A lot of what the 99% is complaining about is what drove the golden age of piracy.

Musical Blades are returning to The Crack Fox this Saturday for more piratical debauchery!

The last time they were here the place was sold out. Let’s see that happen again! RSVP on the Facebook event page here!
Add the event to your Google Calendar!

Just don’t miss it!

That night will also be the unveiling of a new Pirates series by Insomniac Studios.

The models for that series were Chris of the HoIR House of the Rising Sun, Allura of the HoIR As-Of-Yet Unnamed, and Lori and myself of the HoIR Crow’s Nest.

I’m looking forward to seeing how those came out. The promo images on Facebook and Sinner Magazine look great!

Dear Friends of Renaissance St.Louis:

The board of directors and I are very excited to announce changes in the works for our 15th annual Renaissance Faire in 2013. Plans are under way now to celebrate our Crystal Anniversary Season by enhancing our location in Rotary Park and by extending the Faire from four weekends to six.

Our site in Rotary Park will be improved with a new and permanent Front Gate that will create a new entrance to our beloved town of Petit Lyon. There will be additional opportunities for local acts to perform, and newly reworked stages and facilities. We will begin to roll out our new entertainment package, including themed weekends in 2012 to prepare for our 2013 season.

In 2012, the Faire will open as it has traditionally on the weekend following Mothers' Day and will run for four weekends, including Memorial Day, opening on May 19-20 and running through June 9-10.Watch for more information on the next few months on our themed weekends.

Because of the time, energy and resources involved in expanding the Faire, the Board of Directors has suspended plans for the St. Louis Pirate Fest. By every measure for our patrons, cast, merchants, and performers, the sixth season of the St. Louis Pirate Fest in 2011 was a rousing success. As a board, though, we have decided that in order to make our Crystal Anniversary Season the best possible experience for our fans, we could not divide time, attention, and resources between both events.

If you have any comments or concerns at this time, please continue to feel free to directly contact our Guild Masters, Support Staff, or any member of the Board of Directors.

We are very excited about all of the possibilities of our expanded Faire! As the board fine-tunes and prepares to implement our transitional plan for 2013, we hope we’ll see you for the 14th annual Faire in 2012. Thank you for everything you do to make this event a fantastic experience for our patrons. We look forward to working together to plan for and celebrate our success as we grow the Faire into the premier event we all know it will be.

Sincerely yours,

Bob (Felix) Stanza
President, Renaissance St.Louis

At The Old Oregon Place

I’m sitting at the old place waiting for the gas guy to come and read the meter and shut it off. They’ll be coming sometime between 7:30 and noon and there’s absolutely nothing here.
Too bad we can’t keep the place heated a while longer. It would’ve been great to throw one last party in this big open space.
Oh, well. I hope they get here soon. I want to go home.

All Moved In

The Move is complete!

A huge thanks to Chris, Jason and my parents for helping the move go quickly and a special huge thanks to Pet for staying with us and packing for us the past few days while we were working.

We spent about 12 hours Saturday moving almost everything into the new house. When we were too worn out to go on we sat around the firepit in the backyard with a mini-keg of Newcastle while Taboo and Indy “played” in the yard. Indy was playing, Taboo was not amused.

The next day we only had to make 2 more trips and the move was complete! Set-up and organization is just beginning, but the move is complete.
